Halloween is a favorite holiday among many at SERVPRO of Tarzana and Reseda. Regardless of what your stance on it is, most kids can agree that free candy is never a bad thing. Halloween is a great time of the year, but we do have to be cautious any time fire is present. Here are a couple of tips to make sure your Halloween can be fun and safe:

1. When carving Jack-o-lanterns use a battery-operated candle or glow stick.
2. When choosing a costume, stay away from easy flammable and long trailing fabric.
3. Educate your children on how to stay cautious of flames, like jack-o-lanterns with candles in them.
4. Keep your exits clear of decorations so that your escape routes are open. Make sure all your smoke alarms are working.
